Questions

How do I change the creation date of a file on a Mac?

Open Datemaster, drop the file on the window, pick the new date and click Update. Finder can't edit these dates, and Datemaster does it without Terminal commands or developer tools.

Can it change the dates inside PDF and Word documents?

Yes. For PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx) and PowerPoint (.pptx) files it also updates the created and modified dates stored inside the document, so the file and its contents agree.

Is it really free?

Yes. No trial, no subscription, no account.

Can I keep my original files untouched?

Yes. Choose Save copies and Datemaster makes changed copies next to your files, leaving the originals as they are.

Why does my Mac warn me the first time?

The app isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to confirm once. The steps are under Installing above.

Are there files it can't change?

Digitally signed or password-protected documents keep their contents untouched. Datemaster tells you which ones and can still change the dates your Mac shows for them.
